Grandma has passed on as at 12.02pm.

Know that she is no longer suffering and is in a better place.

Family Gathering

Just got to thinking that the first time my family finally gets together in one country and location is in a hospital ward.

For the first time in 6-7 years all 6 of us are together in a same place. Not exactly the best of times to gather. Our first meal together as a family sans grandma was at the hospital cafetaria.

There's something really bitter sweet about this whole situation.

Granny update

Grandma was back in the hospital. She had a throat infection and there's fungus growth in her mouth and facial tissue. According to the doctor, the fungus growth is symptom of how advance the cancer is as her immune system is down. It is also sign one of when a person won't be able to last too long. This was 2 weeks back.

As of yesterday, her condition changed for the worse. She's now on oxygen tank to help her breathe more easily. The Doc said that the cancer cells has spread. The liver is affected as well, so her skin tone colour is now yellowish.

She hasn't been eating either so she's on the drip.

Doc initially thought of bringing her in for radiation, however, now that she's too weak there's no point. Doc believes that she won't last more than a few days. Only thing they can do for her is give her a higher dosage of morphine to ease the pain.
Now whenever anyone talks to her, she's sort of awake, but so drugged out she can't really talk or move much.

On the Doctors recommendation, we are going to bring her back today from the hospital. Doc said that she'll only last a couple more days so it might be better to let her be in familiar surroundings and be comfortable.

Really scared of receiving phone calls from my parents now. It'll probably mean the worst has happened. I suppose the sadness one feels can't be described in words. There's no way the cancer will be cured. Only thing we can pray for now is that she can find peace soon.

September Update

Well, this is turning out to be a monthly update =D

YEp, you got that right... getting lazy.. hahaa...

September has really been quite uneventful. Well except for the fact Granny has been sent back tot he hospital again. (read above update for details)

Been spending more time at home "acquiring" and watching anime! Yay anime!! So far I've seen Bleach (to the latest ep....), Prince of Tennis, Zombie Loan, Kaze no Stigma, Blood + and The Wallflower. Currently scouting for new materials.. so if there's any recommendation. pass it on!!!!

Keeping fit and losing weight is now my "new" prerogative..... Been hitting the gym, at least once a week. Sooks (a colleague) and I are planning to participate in the year end Singapore Standard Chartered marathon. No we ain't going to do the full marathon. That'll be suicide!! that's like 42km. We're planning to do the half marathon.. ie 21km... still a killer, but none the less, easier that 42. Anyone else wants to join in??

Well, this thurday is going to be my last day in KPMG. Feeling a bit sad. I'm just 2 months short of reaching my target of spending 3 years here. Sigh. Going to miss the people and environment. As for work.... well, it was starting to become interesting. Too bad i have to leave.

I'll be taking a short break in October to study for my CPA paper in Nov. Yep one last one to go and i'm finally done!!! good riddance! If anyone's free for lunch or dinner, i should be free then, so give me a ring and let's meet up!! =D
